Typical Commercial Installation
Typical commercial customers own their own building (if you lease
or rent, the CEC rebate will not apply and PG&E net metering
will not be allowed) and have buildings with flat roofs (although
ranches and other agricultural operations with lots of land are
ideal for solar or wind electric installations) that can have the
solar modules laid flat on top of that roof.
Since business use of electricity is so varied, we need to perform
a free on-site evaluation of your facility and your current power
consumption, as shown on your electric bill. Your CFO will appreciate
our detailed 7 page financial analysis that shows both payback and
cost per kWh of solar if financed, and your CFO will also like the
Federal tax incentives that apply to commercial use of solar electricity.
For most businesses in California, we can install a solar electric
system that if depreciated using the accelerated method allowed
for solar electric system purchases, will cost less than $2.50 per
Watt of DC power generation after all of the rebates and tax incentives
are applied, and if that final out-of-pocket cost is financed, will
result in power costs of less than 9 cents per kWh, compared to
the 25+ cents that PG&E currently charges large consumers of
electricity. |
