California Solar Rights Act for Homeowners
Worried that your neighbors will object to the placement of space-age
technology on your rooftop, or that your homeowner's association
will reject your application out of hand without even as much as
a hearing? Read this:
California ensures that CC&Rs as well as community/homeowner
associations can't get in the way of solar electric installations
(Section 714 of the Civil Code -- California Solar Rights Act, 1978).
That means that you have the right of way when it comes to converting
your rooftop into a solar electricity collection device, and we
(and our trade organizations) will also go to bat for you in any
dispute or delaying argument.
We've had great success with very strict and stringent homeowner
associations - let us go to the mat for you and your electric bill.
